“The Justice of Time”
$2,100.00
42″ x 42″, handmade paper, oil, acrylic, ink and pen on wooden panel
Rendered entirely in shades of blue, The Justice of Time reimagines Lady Liberty as a symbol of balance, consequence, and the passage of time.
Blindfolded and standing with her sword in hand, she holds a balance bearing two hourglasses. The blindfold speaks to impartiality, while the hourglasses represent the steady and inevitable movement of time. Nothing remains hidden forever, and nothing stays out of balance indefinitely.
She does not force the scales to tip one way or another. She simply holds them, allowing time to do what time inevitably does: reveal, expose, and bring things back toward equilibrium.
This piece is a reflection on patience and justice, and on the belief that even when balance seems impossible, time has a way of evening the scales.
