Settling on the final color palette for this piece took a few days. I finally chose shades of pinks and browns because they felt true to the story this piece tells—soft yet grounded, connecting both layers of history and nature.It’s always interesting how colors can shape the feel of a piece. This combination felt like the right fit for holding space for this timeline.

Built with tactile layers and rich botanical textures, it reflects the recurring themes in my work—timelines, memories, and the spaces we hold for one another across generations.This painting pairs beautifully with rooms that feature calming blue tones (😉 @tillmanainsley), adding warmth and contrast to the serene backdrop. My work explores timelines, history, and the art of holding space. I’m constantly aware of time’s fleeting nature, striving to create pieces that reflect the delicate balance of honoring what’s come before us while embracing what lies ahead, all within the ever-shifting flow of life.Using earthy textures and botanical forms, I ground my work in the natural cycles of growth, aging, and renewal. Layers of texture lay a foundation that hints at the resilience of past generations, while lighter, transparent layers capture the transient moments and connections that shape who we are. These open spaces are pauses, places where we hold space for ourselves, our relationships, and the ebb and flow of life’s rhythms.This art isn’t just a reflection of my own timeline; it’s an invitation to consider our roles within the greater continuum. It celebrates stillness and motion, calling attention to the moments we actively hold onto—and the ones that inevitably drift away.

My work is an exploration of timelines, history, and the delicate nature of holding space. I am deeply aware of the fleeting nature of time and seek to create pieces that reflect the complex balance of honoring the past while embracing the future, all within the transient flow of life.Through earthy textures and botanical formations, I ground my work in the natural cycles of growth, aging, and regeneration. Tactile layers provide a foundation that speaks to the resilience of generations before us, while diaphanous layers represent the fleeting, yet profound moments that pass between the people and experiences that shape us. These transparent elements are the spaces where time pauses—where we hold space for ourselves, our relationships, and the shifting rhythms of life.My art is not just a representation of personal timelines but an invitation for others to reflect on their own roles within this continuum. It is a celebration of both stillness and motion, a visual testament to the moments we consciously hold, and the ones that inevitably slip away.

❤️‍🩹 Helene has swept through the southeastern United States with devastating force, and our beloved western Carolinas have taken a severe beating. As many of you know, we spent over five years living in Asheville, where I had a studio in the River Arts District—one of the hardest-hit areas. My former studio, along with much of the district, was completely submerged, and the city now resembles a war zone. Small towns surrounding Asheville have been erased from the map. Chimney Rock, for instance, is gone. The scale of suffering is overwhelming.Like so many, I found myself caught in a cycle of doom scrolling, sleepless with worry for those trapped in these devastated areas. But worry only takes you so far. Eventually, I decided to channel my concern into action, joining others in donating, organizing, and rallying our incredible community here in Concord, NC. We’ve mobilized supplies—food, cleaning products, blankets, water, and more—through Operation Airlift and other efforts, all headed for western North Carolina.I’m immensely proud of our community in Cabarrus County, which has come together to support our neighbors in need. I hope our collective efforts will contribute to rebuilding the homes, neighborhoods, and lives that make the Carolinas so special.To that end, I want to share a few ways that you can help, if you are able:BeLoved Asheville
